ShopTulsa is a city-wide, nonprofit initiative created to educate Tulsans on the positive economic impact of spending their dollars within the city of Tulsa. The campaign encourages Tulsans to shop locally, when they can, thus improving the economy by keeping more money in the city of Tulsa. The push to shop locally is more than just a passing social movement - it is vitally important to the health and growth of our community. The few cents generated in sales tax revenue when you buy Tulsa products directly affect city services from street maintenance, to police and fire protection.

There has been a lot of publicity about layoffs and budget challenges in the City of Tulsa. Because of this, we want to provide you with information on how Tulsa is funded, and how you personally can enhance the City of Tulsa's services - and help improve Tulsa as a whole. Supporting local businesses directly impacts your life as a Tulsa citizen.

So whether it's clothes, footwear, food products or any other kind of merchandise make sure you head on down to your local shop.

As we transition to a new site, please check back often for updates and new information. Until then, join us on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr for daily news and updates from the ShopTulsa taskforce.
